Frequently Asked Questions
CAN I WORK AT MY OWN PACE?
Yes! We’ve made the course flexible, and have given you the ability to work at your own pace on your own schedule. There are timers in each chapter to ensure that each chapter is at least 50 minutes, you can take as much time as you need to read the course materials and proceed at a pace that works for you. WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY CERTIFICATE?
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATE?
WHO NEEDS TO TAKE THIS COURSE?
IS THERE A TEST AT THE END OF THE COURSE?
IS THIS COURSE STATE APPROVED?
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT ON ME COMPLETING THE COURSE?
Yes. For dissolution of marriage actions, unless completion of the course is excused by the court, the petitioner must complete the course within 45 days after filing the petition, and the other parent must complete the course within 45 days after service of the petition. For paternity actions, unless completion is excused by the court, the petitioner must complete the course within 45 days after filing the petition, and the other parent must complete the course within 45 days after an acknowledgment of paternity by that parent, an adjudication of paternity of that parent, or an order granting time-sharing to or support from that parent.
Florida law mandates that all parties required to complete a parenting course shall begin the course as expeditiously as possible. No doubt, parents who are separating or divorcing are more likely to receive maximum benefit from a program if they attend such program at the earliest stages, before extensive litigation occurs and adversarial positions are assumed or intensified.
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE PARENTING COURSE WITH THE OTHER PARENT?
